Hi all —
I’m starting a weekly newsletter about living as an American in New Zealand. I’m fascinated by the uncanny valley between home and well, home, and I think better when I’m typing it out. Also, I love to write letters! So let’s do this.

To live in Aotearoa—for outsiders and locals both, I think—is to feel far away in ways both lonesome and magnificent. My hope is that these letters will make the distance seem smaller, or more beautiful, or somehow both.
