On the antipodal blues of Barry Saunders' 'Letter to America'
Great line - “NZ’s got a distance you just can’t fix”.
Thanks Katrina! Think I need to make this my new daily meditation…if it can’t be fixed, maybe I can stop trying? :)
Barry is a national treasure. Please give him my best next time you see him, I miss bumping into him around town.
Hi Simon! Will do!
Beautiful song, thanks for sharing ❤️
Hi Sophie! Glad you enjoyed it!
Back when it was written, Mt Victoria Rain pervaded as much inside as it did out, before all the gentrifiers moved in and tidied up the leaks.
I bet it did! ‘There’s condensation weeping down my single-pane windows’ doesn’t quite sing. ‘There’s mold on my windowsill’ kinda hits though?
Especially in the lungs...
Cool story.
