Absolutely loved this peice Dan - I spent so much of my childhood out these ways so this was very nostalgic for me.

You create the journey. I follow along, the ups and downs, and feel like I’m there…

Thanks, Rachel! Like that daily walk. We just gotta get out there and see this world.

A lovely read and so thankful the young tree-cutter made it through.

Thanks, Susan! Man, I admire the what-the-hell of Kiwi bush parenting. Give them a saw, then take them fishing while still bleeding. That kid was so happy, and utterly fearless!

I wouldn’t go that far on the admiration part. A great story but maybe not that serious an injury and at least it ended with a happy kid, maybe not so much blood and no mad dashes to the hospital. There are plenty of NZ stories that begin with “Got lost in the bush for two days looking for a buck I was sure I shot but couldn’t find any trace ” or ”I would have finished the track in two days instead of five but my broken ankle slowed me down”
